A MME elnöke 2018 márciustól 2020 márciusig
Matematikusként végeztem az ELTE-n 1995-ben. Egyetemi évek alatt a Hallgatói Önkormányzatban dolgoztam, gyerektábort szerveztem. Az USA-ba doktori iskolába jöttem ki, akkori tervek szerint ideiglenesen. Chicagóban találkoztam Bukur-Dóczy Krisztinával, majd összeházasodtunk, és Poughkeepsieben (NY) kezdtünk dolgozni Krisztina gyerekorvosként, én programozóként. Bostonba 2008-ban költöztünk. Igen hiányzott Budapest, és az Egyesült Államokban talán ez a város a leghasonlóbb. Három gyerekünk hamar beilleszkedett a helyi iskolába, s örömmel jártak a Boskolába éveken át, a Cserkészetben lelkes őrsvezetők voltak.
Ideköltözésünk óta részt vettem a magyar közösség életében. Éveken át tanítottam a Boskolában, 2010-2014-ig, majd 2018-2022-ig voltam az Egyesület vezetőségének tagja, ebből két évig az elnöke. Most feltöltődve új erőt érzek, hogy ismét visszatérjek.
I graduated from the Eötvös L. University, Budapest with a degree in Mathematics. During my college years I was active in the Student's Union organizing various sustaining enterprises. I came to the US to continue my education on a graduate level. During graduate school I met my wife and that sealed all plans to return to Hungary. We started our adult life in Poughkeepsie NY. She worked as a pediatrician, I as a programmer at IBM. We moved to Boston in 2008 as this town resembles to Budapest the most and it was supposed to cure my homesickness. Well, it did.
In Boston we found a vibrant Hungarian community. My 3 children settled easily, they joined the Boskola, they have been members of the Scout troupe ever since. I taught Hungarian culture and history for years and have served as a member of the Board from 2010 till 2014 and later from 2018-2022. This year I would like to re-join the Board with rejuvenated passion to work for the community.
