A MME elnöke 2022 márciustól
Nógrád megyében nőttem fel. Később Hollandiában doktoráltam mint agykutató, aztán másfél évtizedet Amerikai egyetemeken dolgoztam kutatóként. Jelenleg mesterséges intelligenciát használó alkalmazásokat készítek egy pénzügyi cégnél, mint ‘adat tudós’.
Itt az USA-ban nősültem, és született két csodálatos gyermekünk: Marci és Mira. Mivel a feleségem Taiwan-i, a vacsora asztalnál három nyelven folyik a diskurzus: angolul, magyarul és kínaiul.
Gyerekkorom óta hegedülök, tíz éve New Yorkban magyar népzenei bandát alapítottunk, s azóta húzzuk a talpalávalót az itteni magyar táncházakban, főként a Manhattan-i magyar házban, fesztiválokon, vagy egyéb kulturális rendezvényeken. Egyszer még a Muzsikás együttessel is sikerült együtt zenélnünk! Úgy érzem, hogy a magyar népzenével nem csak szórakoztatunk, hanem támogatjuk is a diaszpóránk kulturális életét.
Szeretném megköszönni az egyesületi tagok szavazatait és az új testületbe helyezett bizalmat. Igyekezni fogunk hogy méltó módon képviseljük, fenntartsuk és terjesszük a magyar kultúrát és hagyományokat Massachusetts-ben.

I was born and raised in Nograd County, Hungary. After earning a neuroscience PhD in the Netherlands, I came to the US to do research at Ivy League schools. About six years ago I switched to industry as a data scientist: currently I create applications of artificial intelligence for financial services, recently for fintech.
I married a wonderful Taiwanese lady, and we are blessed with two children, Marcus and Mira. I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into with learning Chinese, but at the dinner table we speak three languages— English, Hungarian and Mandarin.
Playing violin has been my hobby since childhood, so about ten years ago a few of us formed a Hungarian folk band in New York: Fenyes Banda. We have been actively playing at Hungarian Tanchaz events mostly in Manhattan or around New York. Once we even played with a well known Hungarian band of the Tanchaz movement, the Muzsikas Band! I believe that playing for the dancers is not just an entertainment but a form of preserving culture and heritage of the Hungarian diaspora.
I would like to thank all of our members for their trust in the new board of the Hungarian Society of Massachusetts. We will do our best to maintain, represent and spread the Hungarian culture and traditions in Massachusetts.
