Esztergomban születtem, a Pannonhalmi Bencés Gimnáziumban érettségiztem, majd a szegedi József Attila Tudományegyetemen szereztem biológia-kémia szakos középiskolai tanári diplomát. 2001-ben szereztem doktori fokozatot az akkori SZOTE-n molekuláris onkológiából több éves olaszországi kutatómunka után. 2003-ban érkeztem Bostonba, először az MIT rákkutató intézetében, majd Boston-környéki biotechnológiai cégeknél dolgoztam és dolgozom jelenleg is.
Puerto Rico-i feleségemmel, aki szintén kutató, 2005-ben találkoztam. Három lányunkkal az óceánparti Revere-ben lakunk. 2010-ben csatlakoztunk a magyar közösséghez és gyerekeink azóta is járnak Boskolába illetve cserkészetre. Több éve tanítok is a Boskolában: eleinte a magyarul tanulni vágyó felnőttekkel foglalkoztam, az utóbbi hét évben pedig a gimnazista csoportot tanítom.
Nagyon fontosnak tartom a magyar kultúra és hagyományok ápolását és átadását és örömmel veszek részt sok programban, amit a Magyar Egyesület, illetve a Boskola és a Cserkészet rendez. Vezetőségi tagként szeretnék még aktívabban részt venni az Egyesület életében és magyar közösségünk jövőjének formálásában.
I was born in Esztergom, Hungary, attended the Benedictine Boarding School in Pannonhalma, and graduated as a biology and chemistry high school teacher at the University of Szeged. I obtained my Ph.D. in molecular oncology in 2001 after years-long research in Trieste, Italy. I came to the US in 2003 and initially worked at MIT’s Cancer Center and later in biotech companies in the Boston area.
I live with my wife and three daughters in Revere. We joined the Hungarian Community in 2010 and two of our children are still attending Boskola and the Scout programs. I have been also active as a teacher in Boskola: I worked with the adult group initially, while in the past 7 years I was teaching the high schoolers.
I consider the cultivation and dissemination of Hungarian culture and traditions a very important mission of the Hungarian Society and I enjoy participating in the many events organized by the Society, Boskola and the Scouts. As member of the Leadership team, I hope to take an even more active role in the Hungarian community.
